Last One Standing
Last One Standing set out to tell a story of struggle and triumph through strong stylized silhouettes and dramatic lighting.
The intensity of the fight, the impacts, the damage and the emotions. To aid our animation team in capturing all of these we layered our rig with targeted blend shapes so every subtle smirk and pained grunt gets missed.
A challenge we faced was accentuating and exaggerating the emotions whilst both characters had a mouth guard in. Capturing the stalwart nature of Bishop and the smugness of Kenji was key to the story of this clash between titans.
I sculpted and implemented blendshapes based on key moments captured in our storyboards. These will ensure that for key moments, the face can hit the desired key poses and be enhanced with additional folds and creases in the face without impacting the workflow of animators.
